OPERATIONS
REVIEW
In addition to the ongoing efforts
to continuously improve operation
efficiencies and customer experience
in FY2013, the Group also focused
on expanding the newly acquired
practices, as well as maximising
synergistic benefits.
Starting with CHI, the number of
doctors has been increased to
cater for more patients as volume
picks up. The Group has identified a
suitable location for expansion and
targets to start operations by first
half of 2014. CHI will also focus on
building greater awareness within the
expatriate community.
As for Astique, its clinic has expanded
with a larger operating space and
higher number of staff and doctors
within the AsiaMedic’s flagship
centre in Shaw House. As demand
for non-invasive aesthetic treatments
increases, Ast ique cont inues
to benefit and record revenue
improvement compared with pre-
acquisition. Management is pleased
to see higher number of cross referral
cases among the new business units,
especially for the wellness division.
New marketing initiatives have been
drawn up to improve Astique’s
business even more significantly.
With regards to Cryoviva Singapore,
its sales office has been set up
in AsiaMedic’s flagship cl inic. It
has received clearance from local
authorities and obtained its operating
license. Processing and storage of
the cord blood units is subcontracted
to Singapore Cord Blood Bank.
Various service packages have
been introduced to the market. The
response has been encouraging.
To improve productivity and meet
higher demand, the Group has
increased its Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI) capacity by 50%, by
adding a third MRI scanner. We
have also replaced our 64-sl ice
Computerized Tomography (CT)
machine with a 128-sl ice model
and upgraded our X-ray and
mammogram systems to full digital
capabilities. These offer our patients
shorter scanning time, higher quality
images and an overall better service
experience.
As for service levels, both in-
house and external training courses
on patient care are continual ly
conducted for our frontline staff. The
Group is a firm believer of continuous
staff upgrades, especially on service
quality, as it is a crucial differentiating
factor for a premier healthcare
provider like AsiaMedic.
The Group has also completed the
relocation of our administrative head
office to the tenth floor of Shaw
House, with additional space for
operational expansion. Going ahead,
the new lease of 15 years will provide
stability for operations and growth.
Currently, AsiaMedic has secured
four hand-picked sub-tenants for the
new floor. Besides helping to defray
rental cost, these sub-tenants also
provide cross referral opportunities
for imaging services.
Look ing ahead, management
is conf ident the operat ional
improvements will result in greater
workflow efficiencies, better customer
experience and enhance business
prospects.
